Sony announced four new Xplod in-dash head units for your car. The top-end CD receiver, CDX-GT520, supports MP3 and non-DRM WMA/AAC files. It is also compatible with HD radio, satellite radio and even the Apple iPod. The CDX-GT520 features front/rear and subwoofer preamp outputs. A 13-segment, LCD/blue LED system takes care of the display.

Mobile Phone Shortage to Hit America Soon

A recent study conducted by Matthew Hoffman, an analyst from Cowen research company, has shown that with the current demand for mobile phones in the US, the country could be hard pressed to supply all of these needs. They stated that the problem that will lead to the handset shortage could be put on account of a dropping LCD supply. This is only a supposition at this time, as the exact causes are not known.

This is one of the products revealed at CeBIT and is supposed to be the successor of the company’s narrow pocket-friendly X830 swivel phone. Verizon Wireless has Sold LG Chocolate Phones to rival the iPhone

Verizon Wireless announced that it has sold more than 3.4 million units, a figure rivaling that of the Apple iPhone’s performance. That’s an average rate of about 850,000 Chocolate handsets per quarter, which compares well with Apple’s stated intent to sell one million iPhones in the third quarter—the first quarter for iPhone sales—which it reached Sept. 10.
