It seems as today is a good day to make announcements about small laptops, which means that on top of the Averatec AVN270N, there was another company presenting a new product – HP and the Pavilion dv3500t series.

Believe it or not, this is the first laptop made by HP that has a screen measuring 13.3-inches, and taking a look

at the specs + price, it looks like they did a nice job. The computer is already available online, with a starting price of $1,000.

Besides the usual features, there are two details that stand out and will help the users: under-keyboard backlighting, and a LED backlight panel.

Since the Pavilion dv3500t series can be configured by the buyer, it means that are a lot of options available. For example, the Intel Core 2 Duo processor can go from 2.0GHz up to 2.53GHz, while the memory RAM starts at 2GB and ends at 8GB.

iRiver has released a new portable media player which is said to have been designed with professionals in mind. That doesn’t mean you won’t be able to pick this iRiver P.Pie P20 up from your local store and start using it as soon as possible.

Nokia added yet another phone to their growing N-series portfolio. The new Nokia N79, like many of the other phones, is a multimedia computer. With integrated navigation, FM transmitter and HSDPA connectivity,

the phone comes pre-loaded with 10 N-Gage games. You also get a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics.

The N79 features Xpress-on covers that let you customize the phone to your tastes, with the following colors being available: Light Sea Blue, Espresso Brown, Olive Green, White and Coral Red. With the phone, you get a combo of 3 of these covers. Along with HSDPA, the phone also supports Wi-Fi for times when you don’t want to incur data charges.

There’s built-in support for various social networks like Friendster, Flickr, YouTube as well as integration with the Nokia Music Store and Ovi. The camera on the phone also comes with dual LED flash, and you can save images on the bundled 4GB microSD memory card.

Expect the phone in October 2008 retailing at &eur;350 before taxes and subsidies.

Basing on the picture above, it could be another flip phone from Samsung. Looking at it, I have to admit that it looks really good. Good enough for me to want to buy it.

Dell is certainly a busy bee these days. We’ve seen them talk about a possible Dell smartphone, then they launched the Hybrid. Dell leaked their pocket projector earlier this week and I’ve heard they’re going to challenge the MP3 world again. But wait, there’s more!

Dell’s Vostro laptops have been spotted in a

flier. The Inspiron like Vostro is said to arrive in August and there’s even a model number. Dell 2510 Vostro is in the wild. It will pack an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of DDR2 SDRAM, an 160 HDD and a 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M graphics card. Pricing starts at $899 and I would think further customization is available. Go check it online, as it seems to be already available to purchase.

and it carries the name W302. This model will be launched also in Q4 of 2008 in those interesting imaginative colors, Midnight Black and Sparkling White.

The City was supposed to offer everyone WiFi access through all Philadelphia. EarthLink won the contract back in 2006 and since then has completed 80% of the network development. However since 2007, when former CEO Garry Betty passed away, the company has been rethinking their WiFi expansion strategy. Read cancel their expansion strategy.

EarthLink got out of similar deals with San Francisco

or Houston and it’s going to do so with other US cities, including Philadelphia. EarthLink have stopped working on the network since February and they are trying to fully pull out. Things aren’t going to be that easy as the Mayor of Philly and his administration aren’t going to back down from the deal. Stay strong Philadelphia. WiFi connection for our laptops and smart phones is what we want wherever we will go.

In case you don’t know, Microsoft have sold just over 2 million Zunes already. That’s like what, 1 Zune per year? Leaving jokes aside, Microsoft still haven’t really made that much of an impression with this device. Last May they reached their first million and now, after an year, they sold one more million of Zune players. That places them just above Creative and lower than SanDisk and waaaaay below Apple.

Zune will never be an iPod that’s clear, but it will always get some fans around the world. I am sure there are happy customers that enjoy at least this Microsoft product.

Apple is thinking outside of the box all the time. I think I said this already elsewhere, but they are thinking so outside the box the box isn’t even there. And that’s what you’d have to do too as an Apple owner. That’s what they expect from you when you use their products I guess..

This lady in New York had her house broken

into. A few things were stolen, among which a Mac laptop. While at work she was given a call by a friend who told her laptop just logged in. Luckily for her, she works in an Apple store. She used another Mac and went Back to My Mac to get to her iSight built in camera on. That way she was able to see and even recognize the thief. The rest is history already, with the help of police she got her laptop back.
