Skype releases beta app for mobile phones


After conquering the iPhone and the PSP (not to forget the N800), Skype has now introduced a new beta application built for cell phones, giving users the freedom to make use of its VOIP services anywhere anytime. The application is not limited to Symbian or Windows Mobile and the beta version is compatible with the endless phones already available supporting Java and encompasses all major manufacturers like Samsung, Nokia, Motorola, and Sony Ericsson.

Skype, the popular service to make internet calls, is finally available for the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet. The announcement was made today and both companies seem to be pretty happy as it was expected.

One-Third of Internet Users are Wireless



The Pew Internet Project has released the results of a survey, which reveals that one-third of all internet users in the United States have connected to the internet using a wireless network. 20% of internet users also now have a wireless network at home, which is twice that of which was recorded in January 2005. 34% of users surveyed indicated that they have accessed the internet using a laptop, PDA, or cell phone.
