Sierra Wireless announced that they’ve chosen the new NEC LaVie G type J laptop for integration of the Sierra Wireless MC8780 embedded module, specifically for the NTT DoCoMo network in Japan. module brings is both quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSPA network access which means you can trot the globe and have global roaming capability. The MC8780 is specifically meant for Europe and Asia, while its counterpart for North America would be MC8781.
