NRG Dock: Solar-Powered Gadget Charger

Posted by Martin on January 8th, 2008  Print This Post

In places where the probability of power outage is high or if you’re just simply trying to be economical, the NRG Dock might be the answer to your needs. The NRG Dock is a solar powered gadget charger. The NRG Dock has two versions: The Home version and the Apartment version.

The former is the high-end version with a 15-watt panel (the one on the pic above) which is connected to the dock inside the house. This is powerful enough to power laptops. The Apartment version, on the other hand, comes with a suction cup designed to be stuck to apartment windows. It’s only powerful enough to charge smaller gadgets like cellphones and MP3 players. Expected retail price for Home version is USD$800 while USD$500 is expected for the Apartment version. The products will be released either on the second or third quarter of 2008.
